Nic Swart, former head of the Law Society of South Africa, said that the purpose of continuing legal education is to ensure the development of learning skills and knowledge needed for legal practise, ensure a high standard of legal services, reduce risk, and strengthen the image of the profession.

The LPA (and its Amendment Act) provides at sections 5(h); 6(1)(a)(xi); 6(5)(f) and (g) and 94(1) for compulsory post-qualification training and development, practical vocational training courses, and programmes to empower historically disadvantaged legal practitioners and candidate legal practitioners.

Online Legal Courses may not be downloaded or printed and you should try to allocate time to complete each module at one time. However, you will be able to access the courses to complete it if you do not manage to do so at one time.

The full terms and conditions for accessing online learning may be found in the General Terms and Conditions including terms and conditions of payment. The price reflected on the site for each module may be discounted for large groups or students. Please contact info@clearlawsa.org.za for more information.
